I’m a member of Las Madres North Valley 2009 Playgroup and we had our Halloween Party on Friday. I made this scrapbook page as the photo favor. I put a magnet on the back so the moms could put it on their refrigerator or they can take the magnet off and put it in a scrapbook. We took a picture of all the babies at the party and attached it to the photo favor. Aren’t the little babies adorable? My little one is the one in the green dragon costume.

I made the favors with Old Olive (the base), Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White cardstock; Basic Black classic ink; Whisper White craft ink; retired Straigh Up Alpha & Numbers stamp set; Halloween Frights stamp set; and the Frightful Fence jumbo wheel. All products from Stampin’ Up!.

I’ve been playing around with My Digital Studio (MDS) and I am really liking it. Once I got a feel for how it works, it’s pretty easy to make cards and scrapbook pages. Here is a card I made using MDS.

Stampin’ Up! is releasing software that allows you to make cards, photo albums, scrapbooks, and other products using Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive images, colors, cardstocks, and designer papers. I recently got my pre-order copy and played around with it. I came up with the following scrapbook page and card. It took me a while to figure it out, but once I started playing with the software it bacame much easier. The scrapbook page is a custom page using one of the Stampin’ Up! layouts. The card is a designer card (pre-designed) which I just embellished with ribbon.

If you’re interested in purchasing this software, it will be available for sale on October 1. You can purchase it from my Stampin’ Up! website at http://jenniferdo.stampinup.net.

I had my baby shower last weekend and it was so much fun. It was good seeing friends I had not seen in a while. The only downside is the shower was on the hottest weekend in April. Who would have expected the temperature to get up into the high 80’s - low -90’s in California? I was dying. I was so not expecting to go through a heat wave with this pregnancy. Anyways, the shower was a blast. Everyone loved it. The cupcakes my sisters made were a real hit. As promised here are pictures of the thank you cards I will be sending out, the favor boxes I made, and the adorable cupcakes.

I meant to come back earlier and post pictures of the scrapbook pages I made, but I never got around to it. I finally took a picture of the latest layout I did, but I still have four others I have to take pictures of. I think this layout turned out really well. This is Halloween 2007. Timothy decided to be Harry Potter that year. I even made a little lightning bolt scar on his forehead, but it is little hard to see. All supplies used are Stampin’ Up!

I am so behind on posting to my blog, but I have been very busy with making stuff. I’ve completed 4 - 2 page scrapbook layouts (8 pages, yea!) and have been working on my baby shower favors. I ‘ll try to get around to posting the scrapbook pages this weekend, but the favor photos will have to wait until after my baby shower on the 19th. The only reason I won’t be able to post scrapbook pages is if I get too bogged down in cleaning and reorganizing the house in preparation of the new baby. Only 2-1/2 months left to go until the baby is here. And if I hadn’t posted the information yet, we picked a name. It will be Gregory Alexander Nguyen (I never took my husband’s last name in case you’re wondering why the last name is different), but we’ll call him Greg for short.

This post is non=stamping/scrapbooking related. I stumbled across a giveaway for a really cool convertible car seat, the Combi Coccoro. It comes in these great colors and looks super comfy for your little one. Anyways, if you have a baby, will be having a baby, or know someone who is having a baby have them check out the giveaway at http://www.the-giveaway.com/2009/02/my-baby-moderns-combi-coccoro-car-seat.html. The giveway ends March 14. Good luck.

Well, not really, I’m still a year and half behind on Timothy’s scrapbook. I’m trying to get all caught up with his scrapbooks before his little brother arrives in June. So far I’ve completed a couple of 2 page layouts. Hopefully by the time I go back to work, I’ll only be a year behind in scrapbooking Timothy’s pictures. All supplies are Stampin’ Up!.

Since I’m on FMLA from work for the month of February recuperating from surgery, I have a lot of time on my hands. I figured I would use that time wisely and work on making my baby shower invitations. I had originally made this card in Cameo Coral and Apricot Appeal (we were hoping for a girl), but when we had our ultrasound on Jan 26, we found out we were having another boy. I had to change the colors up, so I decided to go with Soft Sky and Close to Cocoa. I used the retired stamp set Bundled in Joy for the giraffe image and the invitation verbiage. I think it turned out quite well.

My cousin got married in Hawaii last month and is having her reception today in San Jose. My family will be there, but I’m staying home as I’m still recuperating from my surgery last week. I am really bummed about missing the reception, but walking and standing around are not things I can do for long periods of time. I did make a card to give to the newlyweds (the gift is arriving separately in the mail). However, I didn’ t realize the scan I made didn’t save to computer and since the card is sealed up in an envelope (that was decorated to match) I can’t open it up to scan it again. However, it was a really very pretty card using Kiwi Kiss cardstock, Aztec Gold Pearl-Ex, Wonderful Words stamp set, and the It’s Beautiful wheel.

I also made the Valentine’s cards for my son. There are 20 children in his kindergarten class, so I made 20 cards (one extra for the teacher or he can bring it home for my card book). I used Happy Heart Day and my watercolor crayons on Confetti White cardstock and used some Bazzill Basics red cardstock that I had left over from my pre-Stampin’ Up! demonstrator days to make the envelope using SU!’s scallop envelope Bigz die.
